Hello everybody! Sorry I haven't been updating my blog as frequently as I would like, but that's about to change. This post is going to be about an adventure I had on Christmas day while going hiking.

The wind immediately hit my face as I got out of the car Christmas day, my family and I were going up one of my favorite trails which is Robs Trail which can lead you up to the Wasatch crest trail. We started up the trail and where surprised to see many other hikers and runners on the trail. But within a few minutes we were alone in a forest of aspen and pine trees, we were amazed by the scenery and were constantly taking pictures of the snowy trees. This winter had been without snow for along time and to see a trail densely packed with fresh snow was something to admire. The area where this trail was in is a very special place because it is always peaceful and is always quite. I figured the reason they had so much snow was the trees that kept the ground cool to allow the snow to accumulate. We continued up the trail and went of the path to explore the mountainside which had drawn our interest. Once at the top we saw a valley unfold and beautiful snow capped mountains pop out in front of us, this place was a true paradise and was a perfect spot for animals to bed down, which was obvious because of all the tracks and imprints the animals left. We soon left that area and began heading back down the hill, but this time we were running as fast as we could. My dad was close behind me so I jumped of the trail into the deep snow and began running down to where I thought the parking lot was. I soon realized after a few minutes of running downhill that the parking lot was nowhere to be found. I began to hike back up and I was shocked to see moose tracks all throughout the trees. I started getting worried because I was far from the trail so I began sticking close to the trees in order to protect myself is anything was to pop out of the blue. My phone began to ring and it was my dad asking where I was, I told him I would meet them at the parking lot when a huge moose came from behind the trees 30 feet away from me. I froze and told him that a moose was right behind me and that I would have to call him back, I put on my gloves and slowly hid myself  behind a tree and began running up the hill as fast as I could. Once on the trail I began running to where I thought my parents where but what a surprise there was two more moose on the trail blocking me from getting to my parents. I hoped that had passed the moose and had made it back to the parking lot so I began running as fast as I could to reach the parking lot. While running my phone rang and I slipped on a patch of ice and nearly fell of the trail but I caught myself and answered and said I was 5 minutes away. Soon enough I saw the parking lot and launched of the trail into the knee deep snow and made my way to the parking lot where I was reunited with my parents after a brief time of being lost! I learned that I should never go of trail unless I am with somebody or if I know where I am going! I hope you enjoyed that interesting Christmas day adventure!
