The other day I went on a spectacular run with some friends up in Glen Wild in Park City. The sky was a deep gray with clouds pouring over the mountains into the valley below. With a loud beep from our watches we sped off down the trail crossing the long bridge that loomed over the water below. Looking around I saw the winding river with the ducks floating downstream. Throughout my years of running I had never seen a more beautiful trail this, with large sagebrush caressing the trail and the green grass glistening just after an afternoon rain shower, nothing could beat this day. Down muddy switchbacks we went until we came to small patches of snow that slowed our pace. We passed a waterfall that was flowing with melt water while avoiding the glimmering puddle it had left for us. The trail was very rocky so we decide to hop from rock to rock to avoid tripping. With small streams crossing the trail and Hawks soaring overhead we slowed our pace so we could fully take in natures wonders. Winding up the side of the mountain we are able to see a fellow runner with their dog following them as they too follow this windy trail up. We soon come upon a closed trail head and stare down it with wonder what wonderful trails and beauty lay beyond that sign? But quickly we took the next turn and were on our way to the top of the mountain. During the run I started getting really hot so I tied my shirt around my waist so I could cool off, as we reached some snow covered trail I laid down and felt a nice coolness crawling all over my body. Soon I cooled off and was ready to run once more, I felt soaked but I knew that it would leave as quickly as it came. As we reached the top of the mountain we stopped in amazement as we saw our surroundings, soft blankets of snow are draped over the peaks of the mountains, lights contouring the ski run "Payday", and most importantly the outlines of dry trails. We made a speedy descent and before you know it we are back where we started. For an hour run we had seen some of the most stunning sights we have ever seen, and as we left we had a sense of accomplishment that filled our bodies to the brim. Once I had safely arrived home I had one of my favorite bars from Probar, a Koka Moka and a glass of water. I sat down and started thinking about healthy food that was good for you but was also great tasting. The only thing I could come up with was Probar which is 100% Organic and Vegan and is a great source of Omega-3 and Omega-6.
