to Beatrice, Nickelsville Announcements, Scott - Nickelsville
Greetings from your friends at Nickelsville.
Heres our 3rd update since the return to our permanent site May 13th:
We have most of the materials for the construction of our first sturdy structure. Architect Dennis DePape has given us an exciting plan and Doug Hopkirk is already assembling the tools and materials for the first prototype, like any good contractor would. Today we will begin construction and training. Nickelsville is evolving into an eco friendly village with semi permanent structures slowly but surely. We are soliciting building materials donations from suppliers such as LOWES, and our neighbor Pacific Plumbing offered us pallets.
We have also applied for a small grant from the City regarding our P Patch: a self contained, portable garden.
Mark your calendar for June 18th. We will be holding a pot luck at 5 PM, which a neighborhood has volunteered to help coordinate. We will also have an open house that day (with details to follow.) You are cordially invited. This will be an opportunity for us to reach out to our neighbors and the local business so we can get to know each other. It will also be an opportunity to have our friends visit on that festive occasion. We are at and 7116 W Marginal Way SW and Highland Park SW.
Meanwhile, Water and bus tickets are still an issue.
our needs are as follow:
- Food
- Water
- Water barrels
- Gasoline
- Building supplies
- Fire extinguishers
- Fire wood
- Blankets
- Batteries
- Trash bags
- Hygiene supplies and toilet paper
- Clothing and shoes
Once again, thank you for your continuous friendship and support. We look forward to our get together on June 18th!
