Hi Ruby!

THe database has been updated (our tab of the database that is).  I hope your program is going awesomely!  I really want to find a way to get to the gathering, it is really not convenient for us since it is before our program ends and also on the other side of the country (as you know).  I think it is about a 2 day drive to get there, meaning that we will have to cut our program that much shorter for people to go, I am concerned that this wont afford us enough time to get stuff done for the program.  We will talk it over next week at the program launch and see what we can do.  Maybe some people from the advisory committee will be able/interested, I have cc'd them.  Are there going to be registration fees or any other way to generate travel stipends?

We have decided to hold the August Gathering in Fayetteville, AR, from Saturday, August 14 to Wednesday, August 18. Anyone who has been involved with any Grand Aspirations programs (Summer of Solutions), working groups, is on the board of directors, or is very enthusiastic about doing one of those things in the future is invited to join us. We will focus on, among other things, building national community, sharing our stories, and deciding where the organization will go in the future.

The August Gathering Working Group has created a survey about the agenda for the gathering. Whether or not you plan on attending the gathering, please let us know what you think should happen there. This survey asks questions about where we should focus our energies during the gathering and how we should go about accomplishing our goals.

We would like to have one person from each program working with (or as a part of) the August Gathering Working Group to make sure all programs are represented in the planning process, that leadership of different sessions is distributed among our different teams, and to do some light logistical coordinating for people from their program. If you are interested in filling this role, either indicate so on the agenda survey or email ruby....@gmail.com.
