Hey guys,

So we are planning one last glow meeting to finalize everything before the camp. It will be in Esteli on Jan. 19th. Please let me know if you can make it. This is NOT covered by Peace Corps so please keep that in mind. If you can't make it, I will call you with the updates.

Also attached is the agenda for the camp- it has the times of all the charlas.

Please call me with any questions!

Kate

Hey all,

I'm confirming that I can make that meeting.  Now that we have funding, and the camp is less than a month away, we need to finalize all the details to ensure that the camp runs smoothly.  I went through all of my emails regarding the camp, and I'm going to attach the two documents that sum up where we're at so far.

Here are some questions I have:

 - Who's facilitating the "llegada and registracion" (Day 1, 5 - 6:30); Manualidades/Actividades opcionales(Day 1, 7:30 - 9:30); Sesion en plenario "Yo controlo mi persona" (Day 2, 8 - 9am); Actividad opcional "Gira a la selva" (Day 3, 6 - 7am); Sesion en plenario "Yo controlo mi futuro" (Day 3, 8 - 9am); Juegos de Montana (Day 3, 1:30 - 5:30 - I seem to remember Hanna was going to facilitate that...) and the Noche de Talentos y Baile (Day 3, 7 - 9:30pm).

 - What is our official theme for the camp?  I know we came up with "Taking charge of yourself," which in spanish is "Haciendote cargo de vos," but Grupo Venancia already did that last year.  We need a good lema.  And are we getting a manta?  The norm is to get a manta and put the lema on it.  Do we have funds for that (Cassie or Noelle)?  Who will do it?

 - Noelle is the supply officer.  What supplies are you getting Noelle?  What supplies do we need?  I remember talking about this at the retreat, but I'd appreciate a written description of what we have and what we need.

 - I am the "photographer."  We had talked about taking pictures throughout the camp and then putting together a powerpoint presentation at the end.  I volunteer my camera but I need to use someone else's computer as mine is too big to bring up there.  Also, when I'm facilitating sessions I'll need someone to take pictures.

 - The agenda that I have, which I'm pretty sure is the most current version, has spanish issues.  We'll need to fix those before we print them off.

Ok, those are my questions for the moment.  If you can answer them, please do so via email before the meeting.  If you have other questions, send them out.

Thanks,
Robyn

One more question: who is in charge of transportation logistics and when do we need to get that information to the participants by?

Hi all-

Wanted to respond to the last email. Happy (late) New Year. Hope everyone enjoyed the break. Look forward to seeing all of you on the 19th in Esteli and I think we will be able to think through a lot of these details.

As for donations- I feel pretty good about the original supply list (it is attached if there are questions). I started speaking to businesses early on and have had them agree to donate. I was planning on picking up donations this next week in Managua and I will have a better idea of exactly where we stand for the meeting. I will be able to give you all more specifics then. Robyn, we spoke about how your organization can supply scissors, right?

With this being said, if ya'll have any connections with local librerias, go ahead and hit them up. I think most needed currently would be acrylic and permanent markers. They can be a little pricey. Or napkins and cups would be helpful from a pulperia. Attached is the solicitude letter that can be tweaked in the last paragraph. If you do get donations, could you let me know so that I can keep track?

Following our meeting in Esteli, I would ask everyone to get out at least two letters. We can specify materials at meeting after I see what I get next week.

I would still really appreciate if everyone would fundraise about 150 cords that would go towards snacks. (juice/soda and ritz/oreo cookies). This would cover about 3 three liters of soda and a pack of cookies each. Sometimes people are more willing to donate material goods as opposed to money. If this is the case, that is fine. Just make sure that the snacks get to the camp.

Hope this helps to clear up some of the questions. I still had a couple:

Hanna- did you by chance have the opportunity to find out if Vida Joven has medical kits on site or whether we should bring some up?
Also- did we ever find out whether there will be a Peace Corps vehicle on site during the camp? or someone from the office?

Talk soon-

Noelle London

Hey guys,

A few things --

1.) I'll be at the meeting on the 19th.
2.) Noelle, I think I emailed this before, but just in case, I have donations of 20 papelografos, 10 permanent markers, and 10 dry erase markers.
3.) Hanna, we're renting the datashow and sound system from Vida Joven, correct?
3.) Robyn, about the manta: We have $604 allocated in the budget for t-shirts. If we decide not to do t-shirts, this could be allocated to the manta (among other things).

Kate, I imagine you'll put together the agenda for the meeting? Hopefully can get all of the other questions (camp theme, charla givers, etc.) figured out when we're together.

Cassie

(make sure to change name, business, and supplies in this!!)
