This is a free utility that is used for editing the registry to ensure the serial number descriptor of each FTDI device is ignored during driver installation. This feature ensures any FTDI device connected to a USB port is given the same COM port number.

final Uninstaller 2.6.9 Serial Number

COMPort_Assignment is a free utility that is used for assigning the COM Port numbers of FTDI devices. It runs under Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. COMPort_Assignment utility is available for download as a .zip file by clicking here.

FTDI have provided a simple Windows Vista Sidebar gadget to monitor which FTDI COM ports are available. The list of ports continuously updates to display a list of the COM port numbers assigned to currently available FTDI devices.

I use WyUpdate to automatically deliver program updates so my customers are always running the latest version. However one problem with this approach is that the MSI installer (created with WiX 3.5) is not invoked during updates and thus the version numbers in Add/Remove Programs are not incremented.

This is plain wrong. Editing a registry value isn't changing the installer logic. It isn't dangerous at all. The end-user can still repair the original installation (reverting the registry and all the files back to the original version) and they can run the uninstaller and it will remove the registry and files (despite them being changed).

I use Photoshop CS3. Recently, I needed a new serial number because the product no longer has a means of authenticating the original serial number. I went here: Activation or connection error when starting CS3 or Acrobat 8 and received my new serial number. I uninstalled my original software, downloaded the new software on the site, and followed the steps to install it.

For some reason, it kept the old serial number, which stayed no matter how many times I restarted the computer or reinstalled the new software. I tried calling Adobe for help, who only recommended I do what I had already done, then put me on hold for two hours. Finally, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling one more time, but the software stopped responding. The "Add or Remove Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Standard" is sitting in my control panel, and will not let me affect it, either to install or uninstall. This now prevents me from installing any new versions, so I cannot even upgrade now.

Okay, I found a way to remove the corrupted "Add or Remove Adobe Create Suite 3 Design Standard", ran the Creative Cloud Cleaner, and tried installing again. At least, I'm back to where I was with Photoshop refusing to let me change the serial number. Any recommendations?

How to cleanly and properly uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud apps has been an ongoing Mac admin challenge for years. I recently came across this post by Anthony Reimer which details how to uninstall an Adobe app by it's sapCode and base install version number. I decided to see if that method could be automated to uninstall all currently installed Adobe apps. And it can!

The RTSC-based components installed with any version of CCSv5 are controlled by the CCSv5 installer, therefore no standalone uninstallers are present (nor any Control Panel uninstall entries). If I am not mistaken they are in fact .zip files uncompressed during install, which helps trimming the components by device family (and therefore reducing the download/install size).

For CGT I used provided uninstallers to remove compilers, other tools - just moved their folders out. Quick test seems to be OK. So basically my question resolved. But just in case may I ask to fill enhancement request, so this job could be done in some more friendly way.

Restart your computer in Normal Mode. The uninstaller writes a log of all its processes to the ESETUninstaller.log file (located in the same folder as the ESETUninstaller.exe file) for future reference.

Review the items listed under Installed ESET products, type the number corresponding to the ESET installation in this list that you want to remove and press the Enter key.

Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

This article describes multiple methods to uninstall Creative Cloud apps from client computers. However, we recommend that you use the first method (using the Adobe uninstall tool) described below. Only use one of the alternate methods, if for some reason, you are unable to use the uninstaller tool.

Any Prism data files you have created will not be removed. The Windows uninstaller takes away all of the Prism program files except for a file containing your serial number and some registry entries. These can be left alone and won't cause any problems.

Recently, Adobe released the 2021 versions of some of its Creative Cloud apps like Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.Strangely, their video-centric apps did not get the major version upgrade but were bumped to a x.5 version number instead. So now we have the unusual situation where using the Remote Update Manager tool (a.k.a. RUM) will update some of your apps but not all of them. To upgrade to the new 2021 versions, you need to install them separately and then uninstall the 2020 versions (to recover the internal disk space and avoid versioning issues).

I then remove VSCode completely, by running the uninstaller, and deleting the folders C:\Users\.vscode and C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Code. From my understanding that should have completely remove VSCode and all the extensions.

Now, the number of items needing to be removed from the devices will be much fewer, and the uninstall process will be much quicker. You can then remove all remaining components by running the following command line.
- C:\Program Files\Sophos\Sophos Endpoint Agent\uninstallcli.exe

So, as the subject suggests, my colleagues and I are working on a method to uninstall the Cortex XDR agent from of number of computers (Macs). We do utilize the JAMF MDM here and hence why we are working on a script, however I cannot help but to think simply using the tenant to remove these clients would be sufficient but I digress. If we could call the uninstaller from Terminal and "pass" the uninstall password that might work but I'm jumping around here.

To remove specific plug-ins you do not wish to show up in your DAW anymore, simply run the uninstaller in /Applications/Black Rooster Audio/Uninstaller (Mac OS) or [BOOTDRIVE]:\Program Files\Black Rooster Audio\Uninstaller and re-run the installer package and de-select the components you want to be removed.

Use our new License Manager to retrieve your personal serial number. When prompted for activation by our plugins enter your email address and the serial from the license manager and hit "Unlock Plug-in". You are free to choose between your HDD or any USB flash drive as the destination device for your licenses.

Version 1.7 of the Black Rooster Audio Plugin Pack introduces a new and heavily simplified activation system. Due to the tremendous amount of customer feedback we have decided to go from a challenge/response based method to a simple serial number based system.

Every time you create a trial license or purchase a plugin your personal serial number will be updated to reflect those changes. You can find it in the top area under "Your serial". Use the "Copy to clipboard" function, write it down to a piece of paper or use your cell phone and transfer it to the License Service Application (LSA) in the plugin along with your email address when prompted for activation by any of the plugins. Serial numbers consist of five 8-character blocks. Valid characters are [A-Z] and [2-7]. Serials never contain the characters 0, 1, 8 or 9.

Serial number and Melodyne license: Your serial number is a multi-character string that corresponds to your Melodyne license. If you make the purchase in our web shop, we give you your serial number; if you buy it from a dealer, you will get it from them. If you obtain Melodyne essential as part of a bundle, whoever supplied the bundle will provide the serial number as well.

Registration and user account: Your user account is created when you first register a Melodyne license. To do this, simply enter the serial number. When you make the purchase from our web shop, that is part of the procedure. You can then register any further Melodyne licenses via your user account. From your user account, you can manage your Melodyne licenses, choose your newsletter options and download installation programs.

Activation: In order to run Melodyne on a particular computer, the computer must first be activated for Melodyne. In the course of this process, Melodyne checks the validity of your license data with our server, so an Internet connection is required. You will be prompted to activate Melodyne the first time you launch the program; this only takes a few clicks and you will need your serial number. Please note: Unlike the deactivation process (see below), you can only activate a computer from the computer itself, not from your user account.

Licence, number of activations and workstations: The standard Melodyne license allows you to use Melodyne on one workstation only at a time. However, the license does allow you two activations, the second being an emergency one you can use to activate a substitute computer quickly and easily if, for example, your primary computer breaks down in the middle of a production.

This means that if you have no activations left in your user account but wish to use Melodyne on a new computer, you can simply deactivate another computer that is still active, and this will free up an activation to transfer to your new one. You can switch between computers like this as often as you like. The only restriction is the number of computers involved. If you want to switch activations frequently between a fairly large number of computers, we recommend using the iLok USB copy-protection dongle (see next section).
