Good to see the group getting some use again! Hi there Nico!

Boulder was going to be first in the world with online petitioning for ballot initiatives and referendums, which will make them much easier for people without big money to hire petitioners, but here's how staff have been trying to kill it for 2 years:

Tinyurl.com/petitionstory

Arizona has had online petitions to get candidates on the ballot for 7 years, which is functionally the same. It's trivial, using the same identification by driver's license etc as 38 States have:

Please send our City Council emails as I suggest in slide 21! You don't have to be from Boulder to want better direct democracy!

Hope you get it done.  Let us know what we need to do to help.  If anyone finishes the book and brain storms to organize the best way I will try to promote the group as much as I can.

Here's what you can do:

Email Boulder City Council: cou...@bouldercolorado.gov and bcc me: era...@gmail.com

After telling them why you support direct democracy, please ask them to:

1. Cancel the contract made under false pretenses and pay the company for work done so far.

2. Sign a contract with Maplight to get working on the FREE, open source code offer they made us over a year ago!

3. Negotiate the access to the County or State database we need to identify petitioners.

Thanks!
