UC-FR5000 Web Settings Revision 4.80 (NXDN)

[vk4tux]

Trying to initialize (reset) a FR5000/6000 setup. Correct login is fine and changes can be made, however 

on applying the reset I get ;

Unauthorized

There is no authority to write values from your PC.

The same occurs trying to make any other in browser changes.

This occurs when I connect with laptop directly, windows or linux, or via router etc, using default 192.168.0.11  access.

Also I get a 'illegal data' message at end of read with cloning software. Tried versions 1.4, 1.5 & 1.9, all have the same result.

Is there any internal switch , feature that locks this down ? The ham that sent it to me to test is not sure either on the issue.

Hopefully someone out there has seen this before?

Means only a specific ip address can access it. Find out what his ip was, setup

A self network to that ip (switch, pc, ucfr6000) only way you can get in and reset the wholew thing to default.

It’s not the easiest, as you have to do certain steps to get to a reset.

Evans, Yes please, it is my only option. That is the issue. The IP there is unusable and inaccessible to get behind.

Via sheer desperation, and accidental joining of a few brain cells I found a way !!

I could login to that IP, CentOS 7,

Then opened port 80 to the FR5000

then on the cloud server yum installed 'links' (cmd webbrowser) not easy but doable,  ;







the spidermonkey error s were harmless and just cleared on the ok .

Result : Clean slate as per your pic below Evans ;

The final issue now is overcoming the 'illegal data' issue trying to read the FR5000.

I tried v 1.4, 1.5 and 1.9  CS-FR5000 software, and on a W10 PC & laptop with no joy.

Perhaps windows XP may play better ?

Hey Paul, the ucfr6000 wont let you do that if your IP is not in that list,

He can’t read the list, so it has to be hard reset.

 

I went through this when I forgot a password on the stupid thing.

I have an email into ICOM for guidance on a hard reset.  In the meantime, while he cannot make a change to the UCFR5000 from his current IP address, if he can SEE the list of Authorized IP addresses, he may be able to change the IP address assigned to his computer to match a valid address and handle the situation that way.  Then, once he is in, REMOVE all the Authorized IP addresses from that table.

Try this.  Instead of using a conventional COMM port, use the IP address of the UCFR5000 and Port 41000 to READ and WRITE to the repeater.  Do a CLONE à INFORMATION on the repeater to make sure you have connectivity. 

 

The latest programming software is version 1.9.  That will work with most firmware versions.  However, if you want the repeater to operate in WBFM mode, MAIN version 2.4 is as high as you can load into the repeater.  If you are not worried about WBFM operations, MAIN 3.2 and DSP 2.8 are the latest firmware versions.

Paul, Yes I saw earlier you vcan do the procedure via ethernet. I tried with v1.4, which works well untill the end of the read, then showing illegal data again.

BTW…I just heard from my contact at ICOM Tech Support.  There is NO Field Reset Procedure for the UCFR5000.  The board needs to be returned to ICOM for a RESET.  So, you dodged a bullet

It just has one UC-FR5000 cars which I thought would cover these both ?

Also any digital selection has a red cross  ?   I can test in vhf if i can set digital ? So it can only do mixed ?

The more and more I learn about this system, the more and more horrified I
become. The base-station isn't built with any network security in mind, there
are multiple ways to default the unit without being authenticated over the
network.

I did pop the cover on ours and found it's a linux box, and there is a max232
chip near the three pin test port. I'd wager this a tty, and you can likely
reload it via this if need be, might be worth a shot; reboot, init=/bin/bash
and mount -a -orw,remount might be the ticket.

I'd have done it myself, but I simply didn't have the time.

Go to COMMON à COMMON and scroll to the last item on that page:  Digital Functions.  This needs to be ENABLED TO turn the repeater into a NXDN box.

 

Each repeater module needs to be outfitted with a UCFR5000 board if you want to address both repeaters.

No it's on VKCore which connects to yours, our reflectors work that way too. The core is ok, traffic flows one way no issue heard at the other end.
Its a programming mistake somewhere.

Paul & Group. I hear from Ken WG1U qso on 25000, that there is a reset procedure. he is going to forward the documentation.
It applies to revision version 3.0  & up. Will share when I have the info.
Apparently three pin header top right from repeater front and fit jumper to two left pins of the three ,
Leds flash three times when procedure is complete.

Then opened port 80 to the FR5000

then on the cloud server yum installed 'links' (cmd webbrowser) not easy but doable,  ;







the spidermonkey error s were harmless and just cleared on the ok .

Result : Clean slate as per your pic below Evans ;

Trying to initialize (reset) a FR5000/6000 setup. Correct login is fine and changes can be made, however 

on applying the reset I get ;


 

Unauthorized

There is no authority to write values from your PC.


 


 


The same occurs trying to make any other in browser changes.


 


 


This occurs when I connect with laptop directly, windows or linux, or via router etc, using default 192.168.0.11  access.


 


Also I get a 'illegal data' message at end of read with cloning software. Tried versions 1.4, 1.5 & 1.9, all have the same result.


 


Is there any internal switch , feature that locks this down ? The ham that sent it to me to test is not sure either on the issue.


 


Hopefully someone out there has seen this before?
