Bluetooth connection F4400

Hello all,

I am trying to connect WXMsg with my icom radio by bluetooth. I connected the computer bluetooth to the radio and the program seems to connect to the radio when I assign it the proper com port of the bluetooth connection but I am unable to change channels on the radio using the wxmsg app, like I am able to do when I use a usb connection.

any help would be appreciated.

The Standard Serial over Bluetooth link can be finicky at times.  I am using the 4400 via Bluetooth on a Windows 11 PC.  I've had times I have had to reboot completely and then re-establish the connection and it has worked fine.  Other times I've had to turn on the radio, press the P1 button, read the radio into the CPS, and then after that it worked fine in WXMsg.  The Bluetooth connection can be finicky but when it's established and working, it's good.

I agree with Russ.  I've had the same issues.  But it does work when it's correct.

One important piece also was to switch the PC CMD V2 Serial Mode from the External I/O over to the Supplemental Function > Bluetooth Setting > Data Device  Serial Mode to PC CMD V2.  The CPS won't let you keep both at PC CMD V2

Thanks for all these posts on connecting your radio via Bluetooth to the WXMsg app.

I have found connecting the radio before launching the app works best.  But if you launch the app and the connection is not stable or drops, you can still connect or re-connect and get things working.

The Bluetooth connection can sometimes seem "testy" if you have other Bluetooth devices running with your computer or phone. I am personally a "hard case" on this one as I have a Bluetooth connected medical sensor running 24/7/365.  

Also, make sure your Serial Port assigned to work with the radio's Bluetooth connection is conflict free
