Hi NHSHackDayers!
This is one for the more 'techy' people on the list, but the organiser of this free event -
- has been trying to reach out to wider audiences outside of the known chiphacking community, so I thought might be of interest to some on this list. It's a 2 day course showing you how to create custom hardware using FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays) starting from ultra-basics and leading up to creating a replica of the EDSAC - a very basic early computer, with guidance and teaching all the way.
It's part of a wider http://wutheringbytes.com hacker/tech festival in Hebden Bridge in Yorkshire from the 1st - 10th September.
I'm probably going to busy post-moving house but I might try and make some of it.
Marcus
