the new edition of PostScript is attached or available at
http://www.ggcformulary.scot.nhs.uk/Postscript/PostScript%2063.pdf. An
html version will be available on the website shortly. Please distribute
to clinical teams. This edition contains information on:
* Recent ADTC decisions including dalteparin, exenatide and
sildenafil infusion.
* Dalteparin: Use for the treatment and secondary prophylaxis of
deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE) in cancer patients
and associated protocol.
* Focus on prescribing indicators for GPs and implications for
acute care. Evidence of major changes in prescribing brought about by
previous indicators which have resulted in significant cost savings at
no detriment to patient care.
* Revised unlicensed medicines policy following feedback on the
practical implementation of the risk assessment of off-label medicines
* If I could change one thing... looking at the possible effects
of the abolition of prescription charges.
Comments and contributions for future editions welcome
Thanks
Audrey
