Business Objects and Crystal Reports
The first requirement is for performance improvements. The reports take input parameters and show data based on those parameters. need to use the parameters in the query to reduce the result set, rather than apply the parameters to the report. Secondly, just made changes to an application that populates the data in the database. need to modify the reports to reflect the changes in data being collected and reported.
The reports are written in Crystal and run through the Business Objects InfoView web interface. Therefore, the need is in the report writing skill set, with an understanding of the Business Objects environment. have not completed a thorough analysis of what needs to be changed or added in each of the various reports, so some time will be needed for the resource to review the reports and document the changes needed. Some reports have complex queries, while some are relatively simple. would expect a few weeks on requirements on design, a few weeks on development and unit testing, and a couple weeks supporting QA / User Acceptance testing. Depending on the complexity of the changes, it could move quicker or slower.
