The Motability Powered Wheelchair and Scooter Scheme
The Motability Powered Wheelchair and Scooter Scheme offers an
extensive range of mobility scooters, powered wheelchairs, and
accessories.
There are two options (Contract Hire and Hire Purchase) that enable
you to turn your mobility allowance into a mobility solution for your
needs. Scoota Mart will help you decide which option would be best
suited for your personal preference and financial budget.
Contract Hire
With the convenience of a single monthly payment, no advanced payment
required, and all of the essential extras listed below, 'Contract
Hire' means worry-free mobility.
Contract hire includes:
* Powered wheelchair or scooter
* Insurance
* Extended warranty
* Servicing and repairs
* Batteries and tyres (excluding punctures)
* 24-hour breakdown recovery service
The period of the agreement is normally 3 years but can be between 1-3
years, depending on the vehicle chosen. The vehicle is returned at the
end of the agreed period with no further costs incurred.
Hire Purchase
Some customers prefer to buy their own vehicle, particularly if
special adaptations are needed. The period of the agreement is
normally 3 years but can be between 1-3 years, depending on the
vehicle chosen. You will own your vehicle after the agreement has
ended.
Hire Purchase includes:
* Powered wheelchair or scooter
* Insurance
* 24-hour breakdown service
You are responsible for organising any paying for any servicing and
repairs. However, you do have the option to purchase cover for these.
There powered wheelchair or scooter usually comes with a 1-year
manufacturer cover that will protect you against funding the cost of
any serious manufacturing defects during the first year of ownership.
