Separating a monolithic rails app into smaller apps that serve RESTful resource APIs to the simplified main app on a private network, what would you call that architecture? is it Service Oriented Architecture? its not really event driven, nor messaging publish/subscribe, or push notifications, etc that characterizes SOA.
