  • Based on fantastic feedback and generous sponsorship we are excited to announce that Hoopla is now a quarterly event.

Hoopla is a gathering for you and 100 or so of your favorite creative, tech, and startup peoples. Enjoy a cool beverage and relax. No presentations. No fuss. Just a lot of hoopla.

    When and Where:
Wednesday, October 24th, 5:30pm at The Thirsty Moose (downstairs), 21 Congress Street, Portsmouth

That’s right, we have a new location! We are going to be one of the first events at the new taproom bar, The Thirsty Moose. For those who are not familiar- it was formerly known as Foobar and also Muddy River Smokehouse. We will be taking over their downstairs room from 5:30 to 8pm. 50 beers are on tap (cash bar), plus tasty appetizers provided by Thirsty Moose.

This is a fundraiser! This month we are supporting the Portsmouth Halloween Parade, and we couldn’t be more excited. All proceeds at the door will be going to support the parade and their amazingly creative works. $5 gets you in, $10 or more gets you in plus a t-shirt (while supplies last). What a deal!

Because Hoopla is just a week before Halloween we thought you may want totry out your new costumes. So we are also going to have a costume contest. You don’t have to come in costume, but if at least 10 of you do, a minion from the Halloween Parade will judge you appropriately and the winner will get $100 cash. Yup, cash. The kind you can spend on things and stuff. We will also have a few very cool, very creepy indie video games to play on a big screen (Limbo, Slender).

After our event The Thirsty Moose has a fun night planned with 4 local bands starting around 9pm. The bands are: The Orange Umbrellas, Sneeze, The Erotic City Electric Blues, and Black Norse. You’re welcome to stick around and enjoy the tunes.

Remember, this event is for creative, tech, startup people only. We love all of the rest of you, we just need a break for one night.

This event is a product of Alpha Loft and sponsored by several outstanding companies. We mean it. These are really great companies!
