XD Communication using Reference Implementation

Hi Team,

Using Reference Implementation the direct smtp communications is working perfectly fine. Now i was totally confused about XD communication. Is any document available for configuring and working of xd with reference implementation available or somebody who has experience in working with XD can explain how xd communication can be done using reference implementation?

Things i did,
 In config-ui, for a domain add an email address which has no certificate and with end point as http://localhost:8080/xd/services/DocumentRepository_Service 

Please help..
