Hello!
I am reaching out to you on behalf of Housing Our Neighbors in regards to 2013's National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week (NHHAW). Housing Our Neighbors (HON) is a grassroots advocacy group that was born out of last year's Sleep-Out. This year, we are planning a series of actions for NHHAW 2013, including the "Sleep Out for Housing Justice" which will take place on November 23, 2013.
We will be officially kicking off our planning for these events at our upcoming HON meeting and we need your help! This will be held on Saturday, September 21 from 12-2pm at 811 Cathedral Street. We will be discussing our plans for the entire week of action, for the sleep-out itself, and for our overall goals of these actions. We at HON want to raise awareness about the problems of hunger and homelessness in Baltimore, and use these actions to unite diverse groups and build community power to work towards the realization of basic human rights.
We hope that you will join us for this discussion and help us build the power we need to fight oppression and poverty in Baltimore. Please feel free to share the attached flier and bring your friends, allies, and fellow organizers along with you!
In solidarity,
Matt Quinlan
