Hi-- I recently switched out all old PCs in my library and replaced them with shiny new Chrome Boxes.  One issue, small but annoying, is our foreign language classes can no longer put accents over their letters when working on a presentation... they used to use the codes (alt233 would make an accent over an e)... which worked in chrome when accessed from a PC but not with the Chrome Boxes.  You can use the special characters in the "Insert"  menu when working in a document, but this is not available when working on a presentation... which these classes do a LOT of.  Any solutions out there?  Thanks in advance :)

Posting this in case it's helpful -- I didn't actually test in a presentation, only in a regular WP doc, and I don't have my Chromebook with me right now:

Hi Marion, this was helpful... switching to the French keyboard worked well, but so far the other information isn't entirely correct.  Right alt with e doesn't give me the accent aigu it's supposed to... I get a different character... but it's a start.  Thanks!

Hi Kerrie,

Just now I reenacted the steps in that howto, and it worked for me -- right alt-e makes é -- FYI this is while I am using the US "INTL" keyboard. NOT the "FR" keyboard.

Oh, ok, maybe that's the difference... I'll give that a try.  Thanks!
