Problems with Autocrat email option HELP

HI All,

 

I have set up a teacher observation form for my admins. They asked me to set it up to trigger automatically when the form is submitted and email directly to them and the teacher who was observed.

 

I have set up 3 different forms, spreadsheets and instances of Autocrat. They all have the exact same settings under Set Merge Type. One works perfectly. The other two come up with an error that says

 

PDF successfully created,Exception: Invalid email: DickeyMon Dec 16 2013 11:39:13 GMT-0500 (EST)

 

• I have checked to make sure that all of the emails, commas and spaces are in the correct location
• All of the settings are the same.
• Interestingly Dickey never appears in this example in isolation. It is either Dickey, Jess or jdi...@sau53.org so I am not sure where it is even pulling the Dickey

Hi Debbie,

When I encounter things like this, what I usually try first is to take all the text into a truly plain text editor (on a Mac, TextWrangler is my favorite free one) and use the "Zap Gremlins" (really!) command in the Text menu to get rid of any nonprinting characters that might be hiding in the text -- such as weird line breaks from another system, Word droppings, etc. -- then put the clean text back into whatever system. That's saved me a lot of grief in the past, though I'm not sure if it'll help you at all in this case.

Thanks Marion and Allison.

 

It turns out that I had added a field to the spreadsheet after I ran the script, so I untinatalled Autocrat and reinstalled it and everything is fine. I will also check out Zap Gremlins!

Goodmorning,

I'm having problem with autocrat email option too. In short it send email just to Google users. If the addreessee is not a Google user an exception appear saying "invalid email address".
