Although I am sad that our incredible Apps Development/Computer Science Instructor, David Benedetto, is leaving us, I am very excited about his new position with the DOE around STEM/STEAM in the classroom  (congrats, David!) so I wanted to share with you all this exciting opportunity from him for educators in your districts/schools in NH this summer.

Hello all,

Teachers - Please consider taking part in this unique PD opportunity to learn about incorporating CS into your courses.  Flyer:  https://goo.gl/Eh5Ncu

From the flyer:

"With support from Google CS4HS, New Hampshire CS Teacher Professional Development (NH-CS4HS) offers a four-week summer workshop for the Mobile CS Principles course and school year community of practice support with just-in-time CS learning development,  live hangouts, and mini-workshops for participating teachers.

"Teachers of diverse disciplines interested in completing the Mobile CS Principles course in the summer workshop to integrate computational content and practices  into a designated course they will teach in 2016-2017 school year. No prior knowledge of or experience with computer science or computer programming is required. "

Aside from access to resources and support, teachers will also receive:
  • Equipment: Each teacher will receive one Android tablet for use in the PD and their classroom.
  • Stipend: Accepted teachers will receive a $1,000 stipend for completing the summer course and a  $500 stipend for teaching computational content and practices during the school year and assisting with the collection of research data.
