Field studies instructor Kent Minichiello will talk about the wildlife and coastline of Assateague Island in an illustrated presentation January 12 at an Audubon Naturalist Society meeting in Annandale, Virginia.
A skilled amateur photographer, Kent has been photographing in the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge for several decades. Some of his work is displayed in the visitor center on the refuge. He teaches classes in Conservation Philosophy and American Nature Literature in the Natural History Field Studies Program and is co-editor of the anthology From Blue Ridge to Barrier Island.
The meeting will be held at the George Mason Regional Library, 7001 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA, easily accessible from the beltway and I-395. Doors will open at 7 for hot chocolate and cookies, with the program beginning at 7:30. The program is after regular library hours, so please use the (east) side door.
