Don Messersmith, well-known ANS tour leader and Natural History Field Studies instructor, traveled solo cross country last summer through 30 states and 4 Canadian Provinces for over 5 months. Along the way he sought out birds (353 species), plants, historical sites, geographic features, and the hospitality of family and friends, some of whom joined him for parts of his trip. His talk, along with photographs he took on his travels, will focus on the highlights of his incredible 21,733-mile journey through North America.
