getting ideas from the public?

Hey there.

Now that we have selected a firm to work with, what about doing a press release about the project and use that as an opportunity to solicit ideas from the public, from city employees, etc....  It might be a good way to get a large range of ideas.  We could collect them and then parse through them and pursue the best ideas that come up from this project?  If we agree, I am happy to write a press release and then circulate it here before sending.  Again, if we agree, Marty, would you be willing to be the contact person if the reporters have any questions?
