All meetings will be in the Aldermanic Chamber, City Hall, 165 Church Street New Haven, unless otherwise noted.

Not sure where to submit my ideas but having recently gone thru the Magnet School application system I am very concerned about the cost to New Haven Taxpayers.  For those of you who are not aware the sytem allows many out of district students and there does not seem to be any transparency in the education budget to determine how this is funded.  I imagine that a portion must come from New Haven taxpayers.  My main concern are the specific spots in Pre K and K grades because no other town offers free all day Pre K and K.  Many out of district parents are using it to their advantage, to the detriment of New Haven parents who do not get into their own neighborhood schools because the slot goes to an out of district child.   The issue is that they are later draining the system by leaving after Kindergarden to return to their home town schools.  Along with this I would propose a review of the magnet school office budget because there are many brochures and letters that are mailed and I think this may be able to be computerized.  Please let me know how to get this on the list for review.
