Hello all—
Thought you might like to hear some progress reports. The NHSTA conference session (facilitated by myself, Stan Freeda and Judy Silverberg) went well but only had a handful of attendees…but still good to make the contact and get the word out. The recent session at the NHEE conference had about 30! Attendees…yay! We reviewed the planning process and had the participants discuss in small groups what they are currently doing to support the elp. We then asked the question:
What do you see as the top two priorities for plan implementation?
Here are the responses:
· Buy-in at policy maker level (admin/school board etc)
· Connection to improved test scores
· Good teacher PD and community member connections
· Local focus with a sense of place (land trusts, state lands etc)
· Link to NGSS, CC etc; connect to writing and writers
· Creating ELP “cliff notes”
· Forming communities of practice (interdisciplinary and multiple audiences, local and statewide)
Some of you will receive this twice because I am emailing to the ELP implementation team and also the nhelp google group/Ring. Join the ring if you haven’t already!!!
Thanks everyone and happy spring!
