Hi there,
I wanted to make sure folks were aware of NH Network's annual Environmental Summit coming up on Saturday, August 23 from 9 am - 1 pm at Starr King UU Fellowship, Plymouth NH.
I know Jamie Henn, Melissa Elander and Gabe Chelius personally, and they are really smart and effective folks-- it should be a really great discussion.

See more information in the forwarded message below and register here.

As a reminder, connecting NHEEP/VEEP with your school district is also something you can "do in your community" to help! Perhaps your local high school has a green team or ecoclub, or you'd like to start one-- please connect them with our Youth Climate Leaders Academy. Or you can relay to teachers and administrators that, thanks to our partnership with NHSaves, we have free, hands-on STEM workshops, equipment kits and paired curricula, or free professional development training we can bring to their classroom or district to help empower students to take action in their communities! Coming soon we will also be hosting an "energy problems portal" where members of the community can share problems that they would like help from students in trying to address, and teachers and students can choose the problems that are relevant for their context. Stay tuned!

Thanks for doing the hard work of changing the world.

NH Network’s 4th Annual Environmental Summit

KEEP NH GREEN

What YOU Can Do in Your Community

WHEN: Saturday, August 23, 2025, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

WHERE: In person, at Starr King UU Fellowship, 101 Fairground Road, Plymouth, NH

Registration required, at https://bit.ly/nhnetwork-summit-2025

With critical funding being cut and clawed back, how can NH’s environmental community maintain momentum to protect our environmental values? NH Network’s 4th Annual KEEP NH GREEN Environmental Summit aims to provide role models of folks who refuse to be deterred.

OUR PRESENTERS are NH energy champions.  They’ll give hope and inspiration, and evidence of what can be accomplished “in our own backyards.”

  • Melissa Elander & Gabe Chelius, Clean Energy NH Circuit Riders, know what can be done in NH communities. They work directly with municipalities and small businesses, helping to prioritize, fund and bring to fruition projects that save energy and money, earning the trust of climate skeptics.

  • Jamie Henn is Founder-Director of Fossil Free Media, a non-profit media lab powering campaigns like Clean Creatives, Make Polluters Pay, and Sun Day -- a national mobilization to celebrate the power of clean energy on September 21, 2025. Together with Bill McKibben, Jamie co-founded 350.org and served as long-time Strategic Communications Director.

WHY:  We need to hear from champions who see opportunity when environmental hopes seem dim. We need time together, networking and brainstorming, to maintain our determination and momentum. By advancing environmental projects in our own communities, we are more likely to win support, educate our fellow-citizens, bring them on board as volunteers, and build a more engaged and cohesive community.  NH Network’s 4th Annual Summit aims to strengthen the state’s growing community of environmental champions, as we consider “What YOU can do in your community.”

Who is attending?  interested citizens, NH legislators, representatives of NH's enviro organizations, members of local energy & sustainability committees -- this is an opportunity to share and plan together!   Please join us, and share this invitation with others.

ORGANIZED BY:

NH Network is an all-volunteer, nonpartisan group sharing information and actions on environmental challenges to help create a more sustainable New Hampshire.  More at www.newhampshirenetwork.orgnewhampsh...@gmail.org

NH Network thanks Community Action Works and the private donors whose funding makes this Summit possible.
