NHEdGIS and NHSTE are proud to announce the state winners of the 2023 New Hampshire’s Student Storytelling Competition for middle and high school students. From hemlock woolly adelgid to oriental bittersweet, this year's projects were interesting, well thought out, and told great stories!

State Finalists: Hemlock Woolly Adelgid by 7th graders Maisie Emerson & Ella-Mai Johnson, Hopkinton Middle High School
The State Finalists will each receive a prize of $100 thanks to ESRI’s monetary support and the administrative support of NHSTE.

The National 2023 results are also live, at https://esriurl.com/agoschoolcomp [esriurl.com]. Congratulations to Illinois and Minnesota for HS+MS winners, and to Missouri and Rhode Island for HS+MS honorable mentions! The Competition Final Results webinar is Thu June 15, 5-6pmPDT, as the closing webinar of the school year for our Teachers Teaching Teachers GIS (T3G) community. The webinar is open to the public with required registration and will be recorded. (An optional and not recorded 30-min social follows it.) Register at https://t3ghub-esrit3g.hub.arcgis.com/pages/webinars

Finally, we are looking for a 2024 NH Storytelling Competition coordinator.  Please reach out if you are interested!

Re the Map Competition contest coordination, thank you Rebecca and Shane for carrying the responsibility for so long and doing such a wonderful job.

I am finding that retirement is leaving me even less spare time than I had when employed (everything is fantastically fun and worthwhile) but that and my lack of predictable internet coverage will prevent me from taking charge of the competition.

I will, however, continue to help in any way that I can and I enjoyed being a judge!.  Judy
