Hi Everyone,

Some of you may have heard about the new film The Extraordinary Caterpillar. I’m writing to let you know about an opportunity to join members of the Hanover Garden Club and other nature enthusiasts for a free screening at the Nugget Theater on Earth Day (April 22nd) from 6–8 pm. For details, please consult the Hanover Garden Club’s website.

The film features Douglas Tallamy of Homegrown National Park, Sam Jaffe of The Caterpillar Lab in Marlborough, NH, and David L. Wagner, author of Caterpillars of Eastern North America.

I’ve now seen the film twice and plan to see it again at the Nugget. I haven’t been this excited about seeing a film multiple times since childhood, when I stood in long lines on four separate occasions to watch Mary Poppins. I’ll spare you further gushing, but I do encourage you to watch the trailer (here) and sample some of the stunning photography featured in the film. And if you think caterpillars are little more than hairy worms, the trailer will certainly change your mind—in many cases the caterpillars are just as beautiful, or even more so, than the moths and butterflies they eventually become.

If you’re interested in attending, you’ll need to register here for the event. I encourage you to do so soon, as space is limited.

Hope to see many of you there!

George
