Nashua & Hudson yesterday (not many butterflies, but some nice ones!)

Jane and I hiked out the powerline trail in Hudson again yesterday. Our
3rd trip.  Again, hoping for a late Hairstreak of any type! (but
especially Oak).

No luck.

In fact, relatively few butterflies for the 2 hours in the hot sun.
Despite lots of nectar......dogbane, spirea, goldenrod (new),
loosestrife (new), spotted knapweed, still a little bit of New Jersey
Tea.  Sumac, etc.  Milkweed at this spot has gone by.

Common Wood-Nymph - Maybe 4 (in our endeavors, this has been one of the
few butterflies that has been more common than usual this summer)
Great Spangled Fritillary - Maybe 6
Silver-spotted Skipper - 5
Wild Indigo Duskywing - 4 (fresh)  There is a large amount of Wild
Indigo here.
Gray Hairstreak - 2 (fresh)
Dun Skipper - 3 (fresh)
Northern Broken-Dash - 3 (fresh)
HORACE'S DUSKYWING - 1 (fresh).  This seems like an excellent spot for
this species with extensive Bear Oak.

Later, thanks to Sharon Harvell, we chased after and found a rarely
reported Robber Fly and a lifer for Jane and I!

And also got, not many, but a few excellent butterflies:

DION SKIPPER - 2 (based on wear pattern) on swamp milkweed.  Same spot
where Sharon found them.
Mulberry Wing - 1 or 2 on swamp milkweed
Black Dash - 1 or 2 on swamp milkweed
Banded Hairstreak - 1 exceptionally worn
Spicebush Swallowtail - 1
