Piscassic Greenway in Newfields (17 species of butterflies)

Jane and I visited the Piscassic Greenway property managed by the
Southeast Land Trust.  It was our first visit to this nice property.

This property offers some nice butterfly fields just in from Bald Hill
Road and near some wetlands.  Lots of nectar flowers including knapweed,
mountain mint, Joe Pye weed, some swamp milkweed, common milkweed, etc. 
 The common milkweed has gone by, but the mountain mint was like gold. 
Due to the incoming bad weather we only covered the butterfly fields.

Interestingly, we covered these same fields exactly 1 year ago today on
July 21st 2025!  We had a similar number of species to last year, but we
had LOTS MORE BUTTERFLIES than last year!  Mostly in the right hand
field beyond the wetlands.

Silver-bordered Fritillary - 30!  (last year we had 3)

Ceraturgus fasciatis Robber Fly (Banded Tiger Fly) - 1.  A rare species
in Rockingham county.  Uncommon elsewhere.
