This morning in a walk in the neighborhood there was a hairstreak sunning at 7 am on the sidewalk!!
I took a quick cell phone image thinking it was cool to have a banded or striped in the neighborhood at that hour on the sidewalk. Cool morning so made sense it sunning on pavement.
Uploaded photo and it appears it may be a candidate for Hickory, looks good to me for it, but I have zero experience with Hickory and it's easy to morph a species into what one hopes it might be. Postmedian band has white on both outer and inner edges. Blue hindwing spot "appears" to extend farther inward...
Hoping experts within this lep group may review my observation.
I did run back up to area with camera (after walk and examining photo) but it had flown.
Neighborhood is bordered by forest and neighborhood hosts many gardens.
Thanks in advance for any assistance with this observation.
