If I'm correct, that makes at least 9 records this fall for Pipevine
Swallowtail in NH. Yesterday's record of a Pipevine Swallowtail at Goss
Farm is clearly a different individual from the one we had there on
9/29. Records that I can see on iNaturalist recording this irruption
are show below. Interesting to note how they are all occurring in a
little over 3 weeks!
9/13/25 - Portsmouth - Jim Sparrell
9/15/25 - Peterborough - Keith Badger
9/21/25 - Nottingham - Nate Bernitz
9/23/25 - Harrisville - Cody Cox
9/28/25 - Milford - Michael Golightly
9/29/25 - Rye - S. & J. Mirick, H. Bauer
10/3/25 - Rochester - Nick C
10/6/25 - New London - Craig Williamson & Valerie Burns
10/6/25 - Rye - Donna Ellis
10/7/25 - Rye - Roby Prieto, Marj Watson
I'm not sure about the last two reports at Goss Farm in Rye. I believe
there may be two different individuals involved which would make it 10.
Again, prior to this year, there were only 7 total for the State
recorded in iNaturalist!
The cold weather in the forecast may put an end to the season, but there
is at least one record from Massachusetts in November.
