Zeke Cornell and I made a trip to the Whitefield area looking for northern birds.
Highlights included a flock of 35 Bohemian Waxings and a Northern Shrike at Jefferson Meadows.
Flocks of Evening Grosbeaks were at several locations but especially near Mud Pond. There were smaller numbers of Pine Grosbeaks with 4 getting grit on Colby Road near the Whitefield Airport.
Goldfinch were prevalent, and there were quite a few Purple Finch flying over at Mud Pond but we couldn’t find Redpolls or Siskins.
