This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Monday, January 12th. 2026.
At least 15 DOVEKIES, 4 THICK-BILLED MURRES, and 5 COMMON MURRES were seen between coastal Rye and the Isles of Shoals during the past week.
A SNOW GOOSE and 7 BRANT were seen in coastal Rye and New Castle during the past week.
A pair of BARROW’S GOLDENEYES were seen at Stark Landing on the Merrimack River in Manchester on January 10th.
A HARLEQUIN DUCK was seen in offshore waters between Hampton and the Isles of Shoals on January 6th.
7 LONG-TAILED DUCKS were seen from Adams Point in Durham on January 8th.
A RING-NECKED DUCK was seen at Bridge Street Park in Lebanon on January 5th.
A KILLDEER was seen at Bicentennial Park in Hampton on January 6th.
A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen at Opechee Bay in Laconia on January 11th.
A BLACK VULTURE was seen in Seabrook, and an OSPREY was seen in Auburn, both on January 11th.
A RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was seen in Durham on the 11th, and 1 was seen in Wakefield on the 10th.
A MERLIN was seen in Concord on January 10th.
There was an unconfirmed report of a TOWNSEND’S SOLITAIRE from Sandwich on January 9th.
A YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT was seen at South Mill Pond in Portsmouth on January 10th.
An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was seen at Bicentennial Park in Hampton on January 6th, and 1 was seen at Yankee Fisherman’s Coop in Hampton Harbor on the 8th.
A YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was seen in Rochester on January 6th, and 1 was seen in Harrisville on the 10th.
A flock of 35 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS and a NORTHERN SHRIKE were seen at Jefferson Meadows on January 8th.
PINE GROSBEAKS were seen along the Mooseway Trail at the Pondicherry National Wildlife Refuge in Jefferson on January 10th
A WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW was seen in Derry on January 6th.
2 FOX SPARROWS were seen in Londonderry on January 5th, and 1 was seen in Raymond on the 11th.
A SWAMP SPARROW was seen in Concord on January 11th.
A BALTIMORE ORIOLE was seen in Kingston on January 5th.
A CAROLINA WREN was seen on Mechanic Street in Gorham on January 11th and a MARSH WREN was reported from Hinsdale on January 12th.
An EASTERN PHOEBE was seen at the Somersworth Wastewater Treatment Facility on January 11th.
There were multiple reports of YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKERS and WINTER WRENS from scattered locations during the past week.
A RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER was seen on Mechanic Street in Gorham, and 1 was seen on Summer Street in Lancaster, both during the past week.
A NORTHERN FLICKER was seen in Surry, and 1 was seen in Concord, both on January 10th.
There was an unconfirmed report of a RED-HEADED WOODPECKER from Tamworth on January 9th.
10 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS were seen along River Road in Lyme on January 7th, and 1 was seen at Borthwick Avenue Marsh in Portsmouth on January 11th.
A LAPLAND LONGSPUR was seen at Woodmont Orchard in Hollis on January 8th.
EVENING GROSBEAKS were reported from scattered locations during the past week, including a flock of 110+ in Jefferson.
2 AMERICAN PIPITS were seen at Bicentennial Park in Hampton on January 10th.
10 FISH CROWS were seen at Stark Landing on the Merrimack River in Manchester on January 9th, 8 were seen at Widow Harris Brook in Salem on the 9th, and 2 were seen on the coast on the 6th.
