Yesterday (Saturday), I hiked the East Branch Trail from its southern trailhead in Jackson, NH (Carroll, Co) to its northern terminus in Bean's Purchase (Coos, Co), near the headwaters of the Androscoggin River.
This was a mid-day hike (Start Time: 11am) and the heat was on. I tracked my hike with eBird and logged birds along the north route only. It did not take long before I blew up the eBird filter for number of Blackburnian Warblers. They were by far the most numerous vocalizing species (see below). Oddly low (only 1) number of Winter Wren, even for the time of day.
