I was up at Lempster Long Pond the past few days and checked out a few area hotspots. While overall, birds were scarce, there are a few good birds to report. While descending Silver Mountain on Friday I had a flyover Red Crossbill calling (Type 12, Northeastern). Yesterday I heard at least 2 Evening Grosbeaks flyover while hiking through the Diehl Family Forest, but today I had a flock of 26 Evening Grosbeaks invade my feeders.
