Visitors:
3 including the previously mentioned grumpy farmer who rails against "rules and regulations." I now know him as Ted. He "introduced" me to his new girlfriend by showing me her picture and probably telling me more about her than I need to know.
Weather:
Clear, some clouds at the far horizons, could have used some closer, good visibility; light to moderate and at times gusty NW wind, diminishing after 2:00 pm; 50's.
Raptor Observations:
A good steady run of Sharp-shins (my "bread and butter bird") almost all day, many strafing the treetops as they passed low overhead, ending in a new single-day high count. Now scraping the bottom of the barrel of Broad-wings. 3 of 6 Bald Eagles were migrants.
Non-raptor Observations:
First flock (7) of migrating Canada Geese; 30 Blue Jays migrating; 59 Yellow-rumped Warblers spread out all day flying just over the hill going south and southwest.
Predictions:
I will be back for "select" days in October and then in November to search for Golden Eagle.
