We’ve settled in on the farm in SW Spain and it didn’t take long for the local Eurasian Eagle-Owl to welcome us with its “devil’s cackle” call. This morning about 3:20 AM it was sounding off in the eucalyptus tree next to the house. It’s LOUD and weird-sounding.

The Tawny Owls have started becoming vocal as well, often calling from the rooftop. The first Little Owl nest box checked today has been successful, if the pellets are any indication.
