The Jefferson Notch Road is open for vehicle traffic. The road reaches an elevation of 3,000 feet affording an opportunity for boreal birding from the Caps Ridge Trailhead or along the road. The Caps Ridge Trail for the first mile is especially good for blackpoll warblers. I have not been up the trail yet this year but have read reports from others who have.
