I learned from a Pelham, NH resident that an Off-Road Motor Vehicle (ORMV) group will be bringing a case to the Pelham Selectmen meeting to gain permission for 3- and 4-wheelers to have access to the trail system in the Gumpas Pond Conservation Area, which is currently prohibited.

I am writing to extend awareness to birders and others in the region, who might want to provide their input into the discussion.

I was there this week, they’ve already moved the barriers and boulders from the trails. One of my favorite places to bird watch was getting too difficult to enjoy during hunting season because of many hunters  not following rules shooting right next to the  trails across and  into the swamp, etc. now this.

  Very upsetting.
