Hi Band,
I finally received the attached map of the Highland Springs property. We will be playing in the Arts and Entertainment Auditorium in Magnolia Place (MP on the map, just to the right of the Gate House). Since you may have to park in a remote parking lot and catch a shuttle back to lot Q, I suggest you arrive plenty early. The concert playlist for Saturday, prepared by Linda Knight, is also attached in .docx and .pdf formats.
Below are suggestions for off-loading your equipment and then parking.
When you enter at the Gate House, tell the guard you are with the New Horizons Band performing a concert at 2:00pm in Magnolia Place.
Turn right immediately after passing the Gate House and pull into the first parking area on your left (lot Q). Drop off your instrument, stand, music, etc. under the overhang or inside the doors. If you arrive early enough, you may find parking in a visitor or unreserved spot in lot Q. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN A SPOT WITH A NUMBER; THESE ARE RESERVED FOR RESIDENTS. If you don't mind a short walk, there may be parking spots available in lot X, to the left of the Gate House.
If there are no open spots in lots Q or X, proceed on around the road you turned onto from the Gate House, passed the lake on your right, until you come to lot K. Park here and watch for the shuttle (probably a small white bus).
After the concert there may be a wait to catch the shuttle back to your vehicle, depending on how many of you park in lot K. You might ask around prior to and after the concert to see if some lucky sole that was able to park in lot Q would be kind enough to take you to lot K.
If anyone has questions about the above directions or anything else concerning our concert Saturday, please be prepared to ask during our pre-rehearsal meeting on Friday.
As we have another concert before the one discussed above, I look forward to seeing you tomorrow (Thursday) at the Richardson Senior Center.
