WHere did you ever get the idea that spamming was acceptable? No one,
repeat no one with any sense whatsoever will hire a spammer to do work
for them, because by spamming you show your contempt for everyone else
who follows the rules, and is honest. Consider a different line of
work, maybe one where you don't spam.

Selling, whether a product or company belongs in NH.ForSale, not
.general. It is spam.
not by the standard definition of spam. there are no crossposts, and
it is NH related. this is nh.general, which means a single post
offering a service is perfectly acceptable. a crosspost to nh.forsale
would also be acceptable. i don't read that group though.
if they crosspost to more than 3 unrelated groups or post every
week, *then* it drifts into spam terratory.
at least it brings something to an otherwise fairly dead group ;)

Repeat for those unclear: this is not a For Sale group, nor is it a
Jobs group. Commercial posts such as the one referenced are spam, no
matter how much the poster feels it is appropriate. It is amazing how
many spammers feel that they must justify their appalling acts,
instead of just apologizing and not doing it again.
Not to condone abuse, but can you point to a charter for nh.general?

For those of us who had access to USENET prior to the hordes of AOL,
NetCruiser and other "internet for morons" services
being unleashed upon the Internet and USENET ca. 1994-1995, the default
is:
Advertisments ONLY in newsgroups containing "forsale", "wanted" "jobs"
etc. whether or not there's a group charter.
If there's no explicit charter ban on "Commercial" posts, regular posters
are often cut a little slack; however drive-by commercial posters tend to
piss off old time USENET devotees.
Of course the commercial drive-by posters often think of the Internet and
the "Web" as one and the same and see the Internet as simply another kind
of television.
