New Member Introduction

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself. After 4 years of college sailing at UNH, I moved to the area in 2003 and have been racing in the J/24 and PHRF nights most of that time. This year, I have decided to try something new and only do regional weekend regattas instead of trying to get 5 folks to show up consistently each night.

 

Since my wife and I recently moved to Rye this past fall, joining the laser fleet in Rye Harbor seemed like a no-brainer. I just picked up hull #172468 with full and radial rigs this past week and paid my dues last night.

 

Can't wait to see you guys out there. When is the first Wednesday night? Do you guys still hit up Petey's afterward? I have recently become addicted to that place..

First Wed night not yet determined.

Definite YES on Petey's especially since they are now PSA Sponsors!

Will make sure you are on the Google Groups email list.  We hope that your wife, soon to be named?, will join us.  We trade off doing RC so she might like to come out, help on RC, and trade off sailing your boat a few races. 

Peter and I have been on the water several times already - the water is still very cold so I would recommend at least a warm wet suit type of gear if you don't want to get a dry suit..  A I believe i mentioned earlier, you are welcome to join us out on the river on other nights and if we go out on weekends.

With a perfect high tide at 5:56,  if it's only the 3 or 4 of us, I vote for the mouth of the river.  Remember your battens!!
