Redis keys TTL

We have a configuration of Redis-based shared caching. It works great however one thing I notice is that none of the keys in Redis has TTL set, i.e. they last forever. How is PS handling key expiration when it comes to Redis?

Here is a dump of the info keyspace command on our redis instance:
# Keyspace
db4:keys=47239,expires=0,avg_ttl=0
