I have deinstalled nginx with mod_pagespeed, because nginx doesn't worked right by using
apt-get purge nginx

Then I have installed nginx by the normal way as a deb-package. But I become this message in the installation:

insserv: script nginx-pagespeed: service nginx already provided!

What means this and how can I deinstall the ngx_pagespeed package correctly. Can somebody help me?

Thank you!

If you look through your init scripts, are there any that say they
provide nginx?

grep -R -i "provides.*nginx" /etc/init.d/

It shows the following:

/etc/init.d/nginx-pagespeed:# Provides:   nginx
/etc/init.d/nginx:# Provides:     nginx

And how can I delete this? I can't find the package "nginx-pagespeed" by using dpkg.

Where did /etc/init.d/nginx-pagespeed come from? Did you create it,
or did you install a package to create it?

I used this tutorial to install nginx-pagespeed to my current nginx installation:

When you followed that tutorial did you run the step that says "sudo
apt-get remove nginx*" ? That should have deleted /etc/init.d/nginx
