Good afternoon from SEAFDEC/TD, Madam. 

I would like to inform you that SEAFDEC Training Department (TD) plan to technical support to RIMF of Viet Nam on stock assessment capacity building.

We plan to organize the “Training on Tuna Stock Assessment for Yellowfin Tuna and Skipjack Tuna Resources in South China Sea by CPUE Standardization, ASPIC, and Kobe Plot (stock status trajectory plot)”, for stock assessment researcher of Viet Nam at Research Institute of Marine Fisheries (RIMF), Hai Phong, Viet Nam, scheduled from 16 to 20 December 2019. Total number of trainees are 

The Training aims to 1) Updating the national study on activities for stock assessments such as collection of relevant information of yellowfin tuna and skipjack tuna in Vietnamese waters, South China Sea and 2) Enhance human resource of Vietnamese researchers through the practical session on the using of the model for assess the tuna stock in the region. The knowledge gained on the tuna stock assessment can be support country to come up with the tuna management plan for the sustain tuna resources in the Vietnamese waters in the future. 

Budget for organizing include DSA (but none of accommodation) of this activity is under the Project Offshore Fisheries Resources Exploitation in the Southeast Asia with financial support from the Government of Japan. Ms Siriporn is our course coordinator 

In this connection, I would like to request your kind permission to us for our coordination with RIMF researcher, Mr. Nghia to organize of this training course. The official letter and provisional prospectus will send to Council Director for Viet nam and CC to Madam soon.
