Hello,

i have a question regarding the workflow :

1 - when i pass the maya scene to someone else that does not have ngskintools installed

2 - before exporting into an Engine (Unreal in this case)

Do i have to "bake" the weights in both cases and  if yes, how do i do that?

Thank you for your help

The result of ngSkinTools weighting is always stored in the actual native maya skin cluster so you dont need to bake anything. However you might want to remove the ngSkin nodes from you scene to keep it cleaner. You can do that using the UI. Cant remember which menu, but should be obvious when you click through them. You can remove all  or just selected. Go for "all". After that the ng stuff is gone from that scene, so you'll lose the ability to edit layers etc, so maybe save a working file as backup before you do this.
