What is Lungos?

LUNGOS is the only NGO "Umbrella Organisation" for Civil Society in
Seychelles. Civil Society is the third sector of the Nation. As far as
the Seychelles Civil Society sector is concerned, we consider
ourselves to play the role of bringing together as a "backbone", NGOs
and Civil Society Organisations in Seychelles. LUNGOS is the Liaison
Unit of Non-Governmental Organisations Of Seychelles.

Mission and Raison D'etre :

LUNGOS works with and for civil society, i.e: NGOs, associations and
the voluntary sector. LUNGOS creates and sustains partnerships with
government and other organizations.

LUNGOS perceives itself as representative of the collective interest
of Civil Society Organizations and the voluntary sector in Seychelles.
It acts as interface with other state and non state actors nationally
and internationally, to create added value and bring benefit to the
community at large. LUNGOS also sees itself as an active partner and
valuable contributor towards policy decision making, project
initiation, implementation and evaluation, working at all levels of
society.
