The Global Walk for India's Missing Girls - It's time to 'walk'
towards our goal!
Hi,
Finally it's time to put our thoughts into action! For the first time,
'Stop Female Infanticide...Save the Girl Child' is supporting an event
- 'The Global walk for India's Missing Girls', a rally for protest
against Female Infanticide. Here is an opportunity for all of us to
work towards our aim by supporting this event and making it a success.
Our dream of reaching out to masses and spreading awareness about
Female Infanticide can turn into reality with your support.
The Global Walk for India's Missing Girls' is a march organized by
people all over the world to protest against female foeticide and
infanticide, the worst genocide in India's history. In March 2010 ,
over a 1000 people walked in San Francisco, Delhi, Mumbai, Jamshedpur,
Pondicherry, Kuwait and Melbourne.
In India over the last 20 years, 10 million girls have been killed by
their parents, either before or immediately after birth because they
consider daughters a burden.
Why are these horrific crimes against women being ignored? Where is
the public outcry? Where is the media attention?
The next Global Walk for India's Missing Girls will be held in March
2011, on the occasion of International Women's Day and is aimed at
creating awareness and spurring action in the Indian and the
International communities. The Walk will take place in San Francisco,
Mumbai, Delhi, Jamshedpur, Pondicherry , Melbourne (Australia), and
Kampala (Uganda).
(Details of the event will be communicated to you subsequently)
