Dear CSO Friends,
Compliments of the New Year.
Sequel to your inspired mobilization to organize the CSO Accountability Forum event last November, I’m inspired to seek more opportunities to expand the accountability space for CSOs in the PEPFAR program. Attached, you’ll find the very early thoughts of my team on the PEPFAR CSO engagement plan. As usual, our attempts at this ends-up looking very PEPFAR-centric. I’d like to begin the process of changing that by soliciting your ideas on how improve PEPFAR program accountability to CSO stakeholders. I believe we can make some small but potentially very meaningful investment in this space. Your frank input will be most useful.
I already captured the CSO Accountability Forum as one key event I’d personally like PEPFAR to support without being obstructive to your intentions and also some joint site supervision activities. For both – I’m yet to even pitch the ideas to the PEPFAR team but I think our ability to support these types of activities in future will demonstrate how serious (or not we are about this) – so I’ll definitely be pushing them forward. Let me know what more you’d like to see PEPFAR do – some may already be available but we may just not be doing the best we can. All may not sail through but I think it’s time to test our commitment to be truly accountable to our stakeholders.
Please do not share mail this widely. There would other opportunities in future to deliberate on this in large groups.
